3rd Annual Rockford Ice Festival …

In the event you missed this fabulous, family fun free festival founded by Reds on the River in 2010 and expanded the last two years with the help and support of the City of Rockford, the Rockford Chamber of Commerce, the HEART of Rockford Business Association, and numerous West Michigan business sponsors, check out the full calendar of events listed below, and remember, the sculptures stay put until they melt so head to Rockford and check them out!

Reds has a giant Phoenix bird on the outdoor deck right now.  VERY COOL.

SATURDAY, January 14th –

Festival activities include:

  • 12-4 pm – Carving demonstration on Reds outdoor deck
  • 11 am – 12:30 pm – Carving demonstration at Herman’s Boy coffee ranch (supplier/roaster of Reds coffee)
  • 12-2 pm: Attempt at World Record for longest ice cream sundae bar – Rockford Welcome Center; sponsored by Rockford D&W
  • 1-3 pm: Carving demonstration – Corner Bar, Courtland & Main St.
  • 1-4 pm: Carving demonstration – Wolverine World Wide | Rockford Footwear Depot – north of Main & Courtland

Ice hockey challenge – Garden Park

Scavenger hunt to locate sculptures – downtown Rockford

Entertainment provided by Rockford Area Arts Commission – Rockford dam Gazebo

Free hot cocoa in the Rockford Rotary Pavilion – donations accepted for the Wolverine World Wide Family YMCA Strong Kids Scholarships

Sunday, January 15th:

  • Reds will be OPEN, serving a special chili bar (take out or dine in) and your favorite hot toddies
  • 12-3 pm — Carving demonstration - Rockford Welcome Center, sponsored by the Rockford Chamber of Commerce and the HEART of Rockford Business Association
  • Entertainment and art provided by the Rockford Area Arts Commission – Gazebo by the dam
  • Ice miniature golf
  • Scavenger hunt
  • Contests and prizes
